Gemma here! I founded LEVY LITTLE THEATRE in 2018 following a successful Play in a Day workshop as part of LEVY FRINGE. I now run and facilitate all of the classes with the huge help of Chris Brett and Elli Kypriadis.
I moved to Levenshulme in 2014 and immediately loved the community spirit here. There is such a diverse range of cultures and backgrounds and our young community are very lucky to be growing up in such a rich environment.
It is my belief that, since our children are the future of our local communities, we should encourage them to connect in a non-school setting, so they can learn to create as a team - a micro-community, if you like - in which they can communicate positively and grow together through drama.
So, what better place to do that than in an old library, a centre of knowledge and imagination which was once the heart of its local area. Levenshulme Old Library is establishing itself as an arts, community and culture centre and I am so pleased that LEVY LITTLE THEATRE can be a part of that.
